Toonkunstkoor Amsterdam (TKA) is a concert choir which was founded more than 175 years ago.

Conductor until 1898 is Julius Rontgen (1855-1932).

Presidente 1907-1929 is Jo Beukers-van Ogtrop (1865-1948).

In its illustrious past, Toonkunst had strong ties with the renowned Concertgebouw Orchestra and contributed to productions led by great conductors such as Willem Mengelberg (1871-1951), Otto Klemperer (1885-1973), Bruno Walter (1876-1962), Eugen Jochum, Eduard van Beinum (1900-1959) and Bernard Haitink (1929).

Traditionally TKA provides the performance of the St. Matthew Passion on Good Friday in the Amsterdam Royal Concertgebouw. In 1899 Willem Mengelberg (1871-1951) began this tradition.
