Austrian baritone, later tenor. He studied in Vienna and made his début in 1878 as Count di Luna. From 1880 he sang tenor roles, specializing in Wagner and the heroic German repertory. He joined Angelo Neumann’s touring Wagner Theatre (1882-1883), then sang in Bremerhaven and Prague. Engaged at the Metropolitan for the 1895-1896 season, he sang Siegmund.
