From 1861 he was a singer boy at the cathedral in Olomouc, from 1862 in the convict of St. Stephan in Vienna. He received further musical training from the Association for the Promotion of Real Church Music and from R. Bibl and S. Sechter. Then he became a singing teacher at the Realschule and choir master of the men’s singing club in Sternberg (Šternberk / CZ) and from 1873 professor for music at the teacher training center in Troppau, where he also emerged as an orchestra and choir conductor. 1888-1908 Wondra acted as choir conductor at the Vienna Court Opera, his successor was C. Luze. Most recently, he lived in Vienna XVIII, Gentzgasse 52.
