  • Notes: To acquaint Mahler with “his” new orchestra (New York Philharmonic Orchestra (NYPO/NPO)) and vice versa, two “festival” concerts were arranged (by his impresario Henry Wolfsohn). It was understood that Mahler would judge the orchestra’s standard himself, and assess the capabilities of each individual player. For each concert Mahler was only granted 2-3 days for rehearsals
