Villa Schwarzenfels

The building stands in a dominant position on a bastion-like terrace. It represents a striking example of a late-historic holiday villa in the style of the Old German and is a two-storey building consisting of two nested buildings. The veranda on the west front with the overhead sun terrace shows the formal elements typical of late-historicism. The garden pavilion, in mixed construction with steep Kegeldach, fireplace and remarkable wrought iron work in the north-west corner of the peaked retaining wall, is part of the complex and contributes to the romantic overall effect.

(Textauszug: Natalie Bauer-Lechner “Erinnerungen an Gustav Mahler” Leipzig 1923).
