On Wednesday, May 24th, at the elegant 1901 Arts Club in London, the Gustav Mahler Society UK will present The Delphine Trio and Friends performing “A Chamber Music Celebration”. For the occasion, the
young international ensemble will play pieces by Mahler, Beethoven and Zemlinsky.

The Delphine Trio consists of Australian clarinetist Magdalenna Krstevska, Dutch cellist Jobine Siekman and South African pianist Roelof Temmingh. For the event, they will perform together with friends Maja Horvat (violin) and Zeakele Tshabalala (tenor).

The combination of two important guests makes the event a must-see opportunity: violinist Maja Horvat will join Mahler’s early composition Piano Quartet in A minor and, together with tenor Zeakele Tshabalala, the cycle of songs Rückert-Lieder.

To complete the programme, Delphine Trio will perform the Clarinet Trio Op. 3 by Mahler’s coeval Zemlinsky, and Trio Op.11 by Beethoven, whose piano works Mahler played since childhood.

The international Delphine Trio was founded in 2020, and all the members completed their Master’s degrees at The Royal Conservatory of Music, where they have been awarded the RCM Junior Fellowship. The trio was also a finalist in the 2022 Royal Overseas League Competition in London and has a history of performing in other famous venues such as Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room and Mosterdzaadje in the Netherlands.

Looking forward to seeing you in London!
