24. 1897. Hamburg. On 23-02-1897 he secretly converted to Catholicism, a requirement for the Vienna Court Opera (Hofoper) to which he was appointed on 08-04-1897. By 08-10-1897 he was elevated to the Director, where he remained for 10 glorious years.
