Engelhart studied in the academies of art of Vienna and Munich, as well as in Paris, Spain, Italy, Greece and Egypt . Viennese Secession was one of the charter members of (the modernist movement Austrian), of which was president in 1899-1900 and 1910-1911, and that left in 1939.
