  • On the ground floor of Drechsler palace. The first tenant of the basement, ground floor and first storey was Nándor Reutter who established the Grand Café Reutter, but the name that stuck is Drechsler Palace (pronounced drex-ler) after Béla Drechsler‘s Drechsler Café.
  • We know of Mahler’s visits to this coffee house by Ludwig Karpath (1866-1936).
  • 14-03-1891. Year 1891.
  • Gustav Mahler played billiards here.
  • The building also housed the ballet institute of the opera.
