Year 1906. May. Letter from Gustav Mahler to the Court Opera Orchestra.
The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (VPO) played two rehearsals of Mahlers Symphony No. 5 in 1904, in order to enable the composer to make corrections before publication of the composition. These were followed by two unpaid rehearsals for Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 in 05-1906. In this letter, Mahler thanks the musicians for their accomodation.
