City of Zeliv

Zeliv (Seelau) is a townlet about three hours from Jihlava, Gustav Mahler visited when his father rented and later bought another distillery there. A schoolfellow from the gymnasium, Emil Freund (1858-1928) was from Zeliv (House Philipp Freund). Gustav Mahler became especially familiar with the surrounding trails and woods. The main attraction in this village are the confluence of the Zelivka and Trnava rivers and the Monastery.
