Mahler reluctantly accepted, because on the same evening two of his new orchestral songs from Des Knaben Wunderhorn were premiered in Berlin (12-12-1892) with Amalie Joachim (1839-1899): Lied 1: Der Schildwache Nachtlied and Lied 2: Verlor’ne Muh!.
