Walter Gropius (1883-1969), Alma Mahler (1879-1964) and their daughter Manon Gropius (1916-1935) lived in Hotel Elephant in Weimar from 1919 until 03-1920. The Hotel was founded in 1696.

Demolished in 1937 and replaced by a new Elephant hotel in nazi-style.

After his devorce Walter Gropius (1883-1969) moved to Steubenstraße 32. This house was build in 1880. He lived there from 1920 until 1925.
