- Notes: Hermine Kittel (1879-1948) sung Urlicht. The public general rehearsal took place 23-11-1907 at 07:30 pm. The concert marked Mahler’s final farewell to Vienna, interestingly featuring the same work in which he had introduced himself to Vienna as a composer (1899 Concert Vienna 09-04-1899 – Symphony No. 2). In the intervening eight years Symphony No. 2 had not been performed in Vienna. Movement 5 Movement 5: “Aufersteh’n”. Im Tempo des Scherzos. Wild herausfahrend calls for two soloists only; soprano and alto. It is not clear why Mahler employed the additional singers. Also, Anna Bahr-von Mildenburg (1872-1947) was originally scheduled to sing but cancelled.
